SNAP is a registered charity which fundraises to assist residents of the valley to spay or neuter cats or dogs only. We help by paying 30% of the cost for the surgery and the medications needed during the surgery for those who need our help.
Did you know we are a charity in your region that is set up in your Government PECSF Program where you can donate directly through your employer to our wonderful charity? If you are interested in donating to our worthy cause, please speak to your PECSF team and learn how to set up your favorite charity of any kind for auto donations. You will find us listed as "Central Kootenay Spay Neuter Animal Program” on the list of eligible charities. Thank- you to BC Public Services Members for their kind donations to date!
SNAP would like to say thank you to all our corporate and individual donors for their continued support. We are grateful for your generous donations allowing us to continue assisting those in need.

Meet Daisy and Tuna, the newest members of the SNAP family!
These furry companions bring endless joy to their families, but responsible pet ownership goes beyond cuddles and treats. Spaying or neutering your pet not only helps reduce the number of unwanted animals in shelters, but it also has health and behavioral benefits. By choosing to spay or neuter, pet owners like those who care for Daisy and Tuna are helping ensure a healthier, happier life for their pets—and making a positive impact on the broader animal community.
Feel free to visit the history page for more cute photos of our furry friends who have benefited from the SNAP program!
